Are You Walking in the Truth?

"For I was very glad when the brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." (3 John 1:3,4)
Someone has said; "If being a Christian was illegal and you were arrested, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" Unfortunately, for many who claim to be Christians there is not much evidence that they are truly believers.
The Apostle John wrote (3 John) to Gaius, his beloved friend and brother in the Lord, praising his true faithfulness and public testimony that he was "walking in the truth". Many claim to know the truth (the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ), but their walk (those things they consistently say and do) don't back-up their profession of faith in Christ. Real Christians know the truth and it is obvious to others in the way they live.
There are those who say that we should never judge the faith or lack of faith of others on the basis of their works (or walk). They say that only God can judge the heart. This is true. But what is also true is this Bible verse that warns; "What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?" (James 2:14); "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself." (James 2:17).
"I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." (3 John 1:4). I'm sure that he speaks for every Christian parent, grand parent, and Pastor. There is no greater joy than to know for sure that your children Love the Lord, are trusting in Him alone and that they are indeed "walking in the truth".
