By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious; everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:10)
I have never met anyone who claims to be a child of the devil, although I know there are some open followers of Satan. Most everyone I meet claims to be a Christian, a child of God. Yet the Bible says that only a few find the narrow way that leads to life. The devil has designed a most clever deception where those on the broad way that leads to destruction are religious, self-righteous "people of faith".
It is obvious from what the Bible says that those who hold to the false doctrines of Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, the Jehovah Witnesses, Buddhism, Islam, Scientology and other cults, are not children of God (true Christians). Rather they are in reality children of the devil, who are most cleverly deceived.
It is also true that many, maybe most, of those belonging to mainline denominational churches and even many attending so called evangelical, bible teaching churches, are most cleverly deceived children of the devil. It doesn't matter what you say you believe or how religious you are, everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. The narrow way that leads to life is indeed narrow and few find it.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Churches of Galatia; Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21) Religious self-righteousness is the devil's most clever deception. Examine yourself and what you practice in the light of God's forewarning word. Maranatha!
