True Faith in God
By George Stroh

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Hebrews tells us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Justifying or saving faith requires believing what God has revealed in the bible concerning the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ; For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law. (Romans 3:28).

The source and singular object of a Christians's faith is God and His Gospel; And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6). Because He is God, we believe that He knows all things (He is omniscient) and that nothing is impossible for Him (He is omnipotent).

But there is more to true faith in God. We not only believe God knows everything and that He can do all things, we also believe or trust that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. In other words, we have faith not only in what God can do, but faith in what He will do for us. God loves us and can be fully trusted, not only to justify and save us through faith in Christ Jesus, but to always do what is best for us today and forever. This is true faith in God, the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Maranatha!
