The Secret of Contentment

Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:11-13)
One of the hardest things for many of us is to stop striving, trust the Lord and to just be content in our current circumstances. Contentment is the fruit of true faith in God's higher wisdom and His ultimate provision; Cease striving and know that I am God (Psalms 46:10).
Contentment is not an excuse for complacency. We are to live our lives and do our work diligently and competently in obedience to our Lord; ...whatever you do, do all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). But when we find ourselves in seemingly impossible circumstances beyond our control, we need to remember that nothing is beyond God's sovereign control and nothing is impossible for Him.
The Apostle Paul learned the secret of being content in every circumstance; I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. By the way, this is also the secret for living in prosperity with an abundance, as well as, in more humble circumstances.
Doing all things through Him who strengthens me means seeking God's wisdom; But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God. (James 1:5) God orchestrates our circumstances according to His perfect plan. Our responsibility is to always trust Him, seek His wisdom, do all things to His glory and be content in His unconditional love for us. Maranatha!
