Be Holy Child of God!
Pastor George Stroh
November 2, 2015

For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am Holy. (Leviticus 11:44)

God is Holy and, as Christians, we too are now also holy and righteous before God, having been justified by faith in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Theologians call this imputed positional righteousness. As a result of our justification, we are no longer under condemnation for our sins; Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

Although we are legally justified, holy and righteous before God, we are commanded to also be holy in all our behavior. That means in our daily lives, what we do, what we say, where we go, even what we think ought to be consistent with who we are-- Holy children of God; As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who call you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, "You shall be holy for I am Holy."
(1 Peter 1:14-15)
Practical righteous and holy behavior results when we stay close to God in prayer, Bible study and meditation in His word. We also need the fellowship, encouragement and accountability of other mature believers, which means that it is important to be an active member of a good local Church which teaches sound biblical doctrine.

Someday we will stand before the Lord in judgment, not concerning our settled justification, but concerning our behavior on earth as His children; for we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. (Romans 14:10b) Be holy child of God! Maranatha!
