Are You a Marvel?
by George J. Stroh
November 10, 2014
I have become a marvel to many, for You are my strong refuge. My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day long. (Psalm 71:7, 8)

The Psalmist says that he has become a marvel to many. The people marvel because they are observing this man's constant praise and faith in God even in the most difficult of circumstances; You are my strong refuge.

In the same way today, the unbelieving world marvels at Christians because they can't understand our enduring faith in God even during trails and tribulations; But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. (1 Corinthians 2:14)

Job's wife marveled at her husbands enduring integrity and faith in God while Job continue to suffer; Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!" (Job 2:9). But Job expressed his strong faith and responded to his wife; But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips. (Job 2:10)

Our sincere and enduring faith in God is most visible to others when we openly love, obey and praise God, even in times of adversity. That is when we are a marvel to many and when God is glorified by our witness. Maranatha!
