Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
(2 Corinthians 9:15)
Of all the many things for which I am thankful this year, as always, the first thing on my thanksgiving list is God's indescribable gift. His gift, of course, is Jesus Christ; "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
God's indescribable gift is the gift of salvation, forgiveness of all our sins and eternal life in Christ Jesus! Nothing can compare to this gift from God and for all eternity, those of us who have received this wonderful gift, will be thanking Him.
There is something more that is truly a blessing concerning this indescribable gift from God. We get to share it with others! You see this gift is not just for us, but for everyone who will believe the good news about the salvation provided by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. When we tell someone about Jesus, we are offering them the indescribable gift of eternal life. And this Gospel message of God's grace and mercy, when received by faith, results in multiplied thanksgivings to God.
There is an amazing future scene in heaven revealed to the Apostle John and recorded for us; "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, "Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be our God forever and ever, Amen." (Revelation 7:9-12).
